This visit to the UK was an important initiative of the School of Arts at Southeast University to implement the university's "Internationalization Year" initiative and a concrete practice to promote the international development of art disciplines. Through the exchange visit, the School further expanded its cooperation channels with world-class universities, achieving positive results in research collaboration, curriculum development, joint training programs, faculty exchanges, and international projects, laying a solid foundation for establishing a long-term and stable international cooperation mechanism.
Meanwhile, this visit also further promoted the international dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture and Nanjing's local cultural resources. Exchanges and discussions focusing on distinctive Chinese cultural resources such as Kunqu Opera, Yi embroidery, Nanjing brocade, and gold leaf not only enhanced the international visibility of Chinese art research but also provided new academic platforms and international cooperation pathways for Chinese art and culture to "go global."
The universities visited are all world-renowned institutions. According to the 2027 QS World University Rankings, University College London is ranked 8th globally, and the University of Edinburgh is ranked 35th globally. In the field of art and design, the Royal College of Art has been ranked 1st globally for many consecutive years.
In the future, the School of Arts at Southeast University will continue to leverage the university's "Double First-Class" initiative and the "Year of Internationalization" to actively expand its global cooperation network, deepen international scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation, continuously enhance the international influence of Chinese art disciplines, and contribute Southeast University's artistic strength to telling China's story and spreading Chinese culture.
