Focusing on Cultural Heritage Research to Promote the International Dissemination of Chinese Culture

At the School of Archaeology, University College London, the delegation exchanged views with Professor Rodney Harrison, Professor of Heritage Studies, Research Assistant Pang Rui, and visiting scholar Wang Yongjian.

Rodney Harrison highlighted the college's postgraduate training system and cultural heritage research directions, as well as the College of Archaeology's collaborations with Chinese universities, cultural heritage institutions, and archaeological research units. These included experiences in visiting scholars, visiting student training, research project applications, undergraduate and master's fieldwork, and postdoctoral mobility. He also introduced international cooperation in intangible cultural heritage research.

The delegation systematically introduced the discipline development and talent cultivation of the School of Arts at Southeast University. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on how artistic heritage can reach the world and how art theory can empower local cultural heritage research. They also exchanged views on the international dissemination and academic research of distinctive cultural resources such as Nanjing Yunjin (brocade) and Nanjing gold foil.

Both sides agreed that China's rich intangible cultural heritage resources provide important cases for international cultural heritage research, and future cooperation can be carried out in areas such as cultural heritage theoretical research, cultural heritage protection practice, postgraduate training, and academic exchange.
